Hepatitis C Research

We have also recently led a FIND-funded study in South Africa to assess the preferences and recommendations of People Who Inject Drugs related to the use of a self-test for Hepatitis C. The study included perspectives from 52 people who inject drugs and will be used to inform global recommendations on the adoption of HCV self tests by key risk populations. This opportunity was particularly useful in identifying preferences for the delivery of treatment, including HIV and TB medications, to vulnerable groups living in Durban, particularly the homeless, people who use drugs, and sex workers.
