Nadia Ahmad, MD, an obesity medicine specialist and the founding director of the Obesity Medicine Institute in Dubai—an initiative that combines state-of-the-art clinical care with research and education to address the region’s obesity epidemic—presented a 1-day workshop at the Harvard Medical School Center for Global Health Delivery–Dubai. Topics discussed included the science of obesity, approaching the patient with obesity, lifestyle therapy for obesity, pharmacotherapy for obesity, and surgical therapy for obesity.
